Avian Flu has reached Northern California!
The All About Owls News Page

Highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) was confirmed in wild birds in Northern California on July 14th. While it has just reached this side of the country, we know this strain is particularly contagious and has caused illness and death in more than 28 million birds in the United States since its detection at the beginning of the year.WHAT CAN YOU DO TO HELP WILD AND DOMESTIC BIRDS?
Remove all bird baths and wild bird feeders for now until the avian flu passes. Bird feeders and bird baths encourage wild birds to gather and illness to spread. If you have pet birds and/ or backyard chickens at home, take particular care to wash your hands and change your clothes and shoes before and after caring for your birds.
